In the Jefferson-Scranton Middle School, our students are able to build upon the strong foundational skills and habits of learning established in the elementary grades. The core curriculum content broadens and deepens, beginning the preparation for high school. A variety of athletics, fine arts experiences and extracurricular activities provide the balance and alternatives needed by the middle school student.
The core curriculum includes Social Studies, Science, Math, Language Arts, and Literature for every student in grades 6-8. Exploratory classes in art, computers, life management, quest, industrial technology, band, chorus, and physical education provide each student with a highly developed and well-rounded education. There are approximately 100 students in each grade. Classroom sizes for most courses range from 20-25 students with the exception of music and physical education.
