The Jefferson-Scranton Elementary School educates the district's TK-fifth graders. There are multiple sections of each grade level averaging over eighty children per grade. Teachers give the children many wonderful experiences which are developmentally appropriate. They experience a number of hands-on activities which helps make the learning more meaningful to the children.
The students have the opportunity to spend time in the ILS computer lab every day to experience math and reading lessons at their own ability level. The children have many other activities to help enhance the learning process.
South Grade Elementary
The South Grade Elementary houses the Pre-Kindergarten and Early Childhood Special Education classes. The individual child's needs are better met with all these opportunities. Each class tries to fit each child into the program that best fits the individual child's maturity.
